Me — the one who knows the sound of your car and the rhythm of your footsteps.

Your scent is my home.
I feel your emotions more clearly than my own.
I rest when you’re near.
And when you’re gone — I wait.
For your voice, your touch, for you. 🐾
Sounds beautiful, right? Touching.
But… that’s our perspective.
It feels nice because it makes us feel special and loved.
For the dog — it might just be dependency.
Created by us. With love, with good intentions.
But still: dependency.
The dog who “waits all day” often has nothing else.
No friends of their own.
No life of their own.
No reality outside the emotional world we build for them.
They don’t know how to rest without us.
They rely on us to the edge of their wellbeing.
We’re afraid that if our dog doesn’t need us constantly, something’s wrong.
But a healthy relationship means the dog doesn’t have to miss us all day.
Sometimes, they might even ignore us — and that’s okay.
We don’t have to be their entire world.
It’s enough to be their safe base.
True love for a dog isn’t turning them into a permanent “waiter” or a clingy shadow.
It’s helping them see that the world is bigger than just us.
